Feess named interim administrator of Liberty Hospital
LIBERTY, Mo. (April 6, 2011) — The Liberty Hospital Board of Trustees has unanimously chosen David Feess as the interim administrator of Liberty Hospital, following the retirement of current administrator Joseph Crossett on April 29.
Feess joined Liberty Hospital as assistant administrator of finance in 1987 and in 1990 moved to his current position as assistant administrator of information and support services. “David has been an exceptional leader for the organization,” said Tony Shippert, Liberty Hospital Board of Trustees president. “He has extensive experience in patient safety, project management, corporate compliance, quality improvement and overall patient care.”
During his tenure, Feess has overseen various construction projects, including the development of the hospital’s south tower, the Doctors Building, Medical Plaza East, and the cardiology expansion. He has also been influential in the implementation of the hospital’s clinical information system and has served as the hospital’s corporate compliance officer.
The Board has begun an internal and external search to identify a permanent replacement for Crossett, who has served the hospital for more than 35 years in various leadership roles. He was appointed hospital administrator in 1988.
Liberty Hospital is a 250-bed regional medical center serving Clay and Platte counties as well as the northwest Missouri corridor. Founded in 1974, Liberty Hospital is a public, not-for-profit hospital, created for the benefit of its community as a political subdivision district hospital under Chapter 206 of the Revised Statutes of Missouri. It is governed by a six-member, publicly elected board of trustees who serve six-year terms. More than 1,800 employees and 300 physicians deliver compassionate, exceptional care using the latest technology and a full range of services.
