(July 20, 2011) — The Liberty Hospital Board of Trustees is pleased to announce that David Feess has been selected as the new administrator of Liberty Hospital, effective immediately. Feess previously served as the interim administrator, following the retirement of Joe Crossett in April. The Board unanimously adopted the recommendation of the search committee, which was composed of all of the trustees as well as the president and president-elect of the medical staff, with the participation of the president of the Liberty Hospital Foundation. “David and his administrative team have shown exemplary performance,” said William Riggs, Liberty Hospital Board of Trustees president. “We are appreciative of his leadership during our recent time of transition and are confident and excited about the future of the organization under his guidance.” Feess joined Liberty Hospital as assistant administrator of finance in 1987 and in 1990 moved to his previous position as assistant administrator of information and support services. An exceptional leader for the organization, he has extensive experience in patient safety, project management, corporate compliance, quality improvement and overall patient care. During his tenure, Feess has overseen various construction projects, including the development of the hospital’s south tower, the Doctors Building, Medical Plaza East, and the cardiology expansion. He has also been influential in the implementation of the hospital’s clinical information system and has served as the hospital’s corporate compliance officer. Always active in the Liberty community, Feess served as chairman of the Liberty Area Chamber of Commerce in 2009 as well as its Volunteer of the Year in 2010. He also served as chairman of the Liberty 4thFest in 2010 and 2011. Liberty Hospital is a 250-bed regional medical center serving Clay and Platte counties as well as the northwest Missouri corridor.
