* Inform your physician if you are pregnant or breast feeding. The level of radioactivity used for this exam is extremely low and has no side effects. You will be positioned next to a special detector called a gamma camera. The camera does not produce any radiation. It will be placed close to the part of your body being imaged.
Patient Preparation Do not eat or drink anything after midnight the day before test. Notify the physician if you have an allergy to eggs.
Procedure You will be asked to consume a solid meal of scrambled eggs (or substitute), with medication mixed into the meal. Painless images will be obtained for approximately two hours. |
