The level of radioactivity used for this exam is extremely low and has no side effects.You will be positioned on an imaging table, under a special detector called a gamma camera. The camera does not produce any radiation. It will be placed close to the part of your body being imaged.

Procedure
This is a three-part test. On your first visit, a small amount of radioactive material will be injected into a vein in your arm. Painless images will be obtained immediately after injection, at 60 minutes and two hours after injection.  The test lasts for 3 hours.
