To ensure that each patient has the best surgical care possible, Liberty Hospital’s registered nurses and technicians adhere to the standards established by the Association of Perioperative Room Nurses and the American Society of Post-Anesthesia Nurses.
A unique element of Liberty Hospital’s Surgical Services is its Operating Room Family Liaison. This registered nurse is dedicated to providing ongoing updates to family and friends, especially during more complex surgeries.
While the patient is in surgery, family and friends may wait in the hospital’s comfortable Surgery Waiting Room, which features free coffee and tea, reading material and a television and is always staffed by a hospital volunteer. To be certain the nurse liaison can reach the family at all times, pagers are available for those who would like to leave the waiting room area.
