If you come to the hospital with these items, we advise you to send them home with a family member or another trusted representative. We cannot be responsible for them.
We understand that you may need certain valuable personal items, such as dentures, glasses, hearing aids, etc., during your stay with us. If you choose to bring these items to the hospital with you, you or your patient representative is responsible for the safekeeping of these items and the hospital cannot be held responsible for them. Your caregiver can provide you with a special container to keep them in upon request.
If you cannot send your valuable personal items home, you may store them in the hospital's vault. Please ask your caregiver about this service.

Often, it is hard to track down this information after you are hospitalized; however, this information can be important to the development of your treatment plan.
The majority of inpatient rooms at Liberty Hospital are private rooms. Each contains a television, telephone and bathroom. Patients may be transferred from room to room, bed to bed or unit to unit at the discretion of the nursing staff for the welfare of the patients, family and/or nursing unit in general. The patient and/or family will be notified of any room changes.
Letters and packages for patients are delivered each morning by volunteers. Letters and parcels that arrive after you have been discharged are forwarded to your home. Cards, stationery and stamps may be purchased in the gift shop. Outgoing mail may be left at the nurses’ station or given to a volunteer.
Flowers are delivered to your room by volunteers. Please keep in mind that large plants and flowers are difficult to deliver and remove upon discharge.
The services of a notary are available for patients free of charge. For information, call 816.792.7002.
A telecommunications device is available to help hearing-impaired patients or patients who want to communicate with a hearing-impaired relative or friend. Arrangements also can be made to have a person who uses sign language to interpret for hearing-impaired or deaf patients.
If a patient speaks a foreign language, the hospital has access to foreign language interpreters. Please let your caregiver know if you need the services of an interpreter.
Please don't bring any valuables with you. But do bring a copy of your personal health record that lists your medicines, your allergies and other basics.
