Biography

Dedicated to getting patients back to living the quality of life they desire, Dr. Gause is an orthopedic surgeon who is fellowship trained in surgery of the foot and ankle. He specializes in comprehensive care of the lower extremities, including knee and leg pain. He has special interests in ankle and knee replacement, sports injuries, flat foot correction, bunion correction, arthroscopy and lower extremity post-traumatic reconstruction.

He provides a relaxed atmosphere where open and honest communication is encouraged. Patient education is a critical part of his practice, and he will take the time to explain your condition and treatment options in a caring and compassionate manner. He emphasizes non-operative measures prior to recommending surgery, whenever possible. His experience includes serving as the chief physician executive, chief medical information officer and medical director of orthopaedics and rehabilitation services at a health system in Iowa where he also established a diabetic foot clinic.
