Outpatient Rehabilitation

Liberty Hospital Sports Medicine partners with Norterre for outpatient rehabilitation services that are non-sports related. Sports-related physical therapy occurs at Liberty Hospital Sports Medicine. Other outpatient rehab happens at the Estoria and Aurora Health and Wellness Center at Norterre, located next door to Liberty Hospital.

Outpatient Rehabilitation at offers a full spectrum of services, including:

  • Certified lymphedema treatment
  • VitalStim-certified techniques
  • Myofascial release
  • Pain management
  • Post-surgical procedures to the spine or extremities
  • Orthopedic rehabilitation
  • Post-stroke rehabilitation

Occupational therapy

Occupational therapy is an important part of getting back into your daily routine after an injury, illness or surgery. To help you get back on your feet, our therapists offer:

Speech and language pathology

Our Speech-Language Pathologists can diagnose and treat a variety of communication, cognitive and swallowing disorders that result from the following:

  • Stroke
  • Brain Injury
  • Head and Neck Cancer
  • Neurological disorders
  • Developmental delays
  • Aging process


Our speech pathologists are VitalStim-certified to aid in the rehabilitation of Dysphagia, (swallowing, disorders).

In addition our Speech-Language Pathologists can perform therapies that aid in rehabilitation of a variety of communication and cognitive deficits:

  • Problem solving/organizational skills

Specialists trained in physical, occupational and speech therapy provide rehabilitative services in a variety of settings. Above is the Bioness Integrated Therapy System (BITS), which is used as part of some patients' rehabilitation programs.
